Business Auto Insurance

As a business owner, you need the same kinds of insurance coverages for the vehicles you use in your business as you do for your personal autos including: liability, collision, comprehensive, medical payments and coverage for uninsured motorists. In fact, many business people use the same vehicle for both business and pleasure. If the vehicle is owned by the business, make sure the name of the business entity appears on the policy as the “principal insured” rather than your name. This will avoid possible confusion in the event that you are involved in litigation.

We will ask you several questions to determine whether you need to buy a business auto insurance policy including details about how you use vehicles in your business, who will be driving them and whether employees, if you have them, are likely to be driving their own cars for your business.  We will also discuss other types of coverage which you may need including hired and non-owned automobile, drive-other-car protection and rental reimbursement. Business automobile insurance protection is designed for automobiles, trucks or trailers owned and/or operated by businesses. If you need coverage for cargo which you haul in a truck or trailer, it must be purchased separately on an inland marine policy.
